| Man Vs. Wild Does anyone watch Man vs. Wild?
If so what do you think of the TV Show?
I am sometimes curious if it's real or if Bear Grylls is a fake and there are people there prompting him telling him what to say and assisting him in what he does :/
Fake survival is not real survival and a lot of stuff he does is not safe!! |

| Re: Man Vs. Wild Watch the show all the time, seems to be fake or at least not realistic. It is hard to believe he is in any real danger when he has a camera crew flowing him. On the positive side he Bear does give good information at time throughout the show.
A show that I like and seems a little more on the up and up is Survivorman. No camera crew just one person filming himself the entire time. |

Les Stroud = You can really learn survival, and he tells you if what he's doing is stupid. |

I tried to watch the new one on Friday and during the first 2 minutes he repeated what he does in the rest of his shows.
1. The view is awesome!
2. Cover your head.
3. Gotta drink my own urine.
I laughed, and changed the channel! |

| Re: Man Vs. Wild In that "grizzly" episode Grylls runs from his shelter through the forest in the dark of night ( with his entire camera crew in tow no less) to supposedly escape from a real bear, maybe a grizzly that was stalking his camp. Now without getting into how absurd it would be to "run" from a grizzly as a "survival" technique there are a couple of other things that really make his show crap. In the same episode, as he's running throught the woods in the dark, he pauses to reflect on his special forces training about "night vision" and getting adjusted to seeing in the dark. he explains that he can see fairly well after about 20 minutes because his eyes have adjusted AS THE WOODS AROUND HIM ARE BLEACHED IN THE LIGHT FROM HIS CAMERA CREW! Later in the same episode he nearly weeps as he admits that the hardest part for him is dealing with the "solitude". He opines how tough is is to have nobody with him to provide encouragement to carry on WHILE HE'S SURROUNDED BY HIS ENTIRE CAMERA CREW!
The Outback episode: If I'm not mistaken, correct me if I am. In the original, not newly edited version, he catches a snake which he places around his neck to be eaten "later". he eventually climbs up to a ledge overlooking a river where he kills, cooks, and eats the snake.
Now, in the (I guess) newly edited version of the same episode he is seen beginning to climb up to the ledge overlooking the river with the snake as his voice narrarates, and I paraphrase " in the Outback only indigenous people are alowed to kill animals so this snake will be let go ". You never see him let the snake go ( which would be quite the trick seeing how he ate the thing ). What gives ? Did Bear get caught breaking Aussie law?
I have other problems with the show, but I've rambled on long enough.
Am I alone in seeing this crap? |

| Re: Man Vs. Wild Steve - I 100% agree.
It's funny how it was supposed to be "Real Life" yet he got caught making stuff up and lieing.
Beare Grylls is a good adventurer and pretty interesting to listen to but for my vote in shows it goes to Les in Survivorman.

| Re: Man Vs. Wild x2... BG is full of it. so many people like that show but cant see why it is so stupid and dangerous. if people use what BG teaches then they will prob die.... Les gets my vote as survival teacher of the discovery channel |

| Re: Man Vs. Wild VS Survivorman ok heres my take on the 2 survival shows not that anyone is asking
i do agree Les can be boring but he is out there by himself ,yes there is a crew near by but think about it they`re not going to let him die he does go to some awsome places, no he doesnt drink his own piss because hes not an idiot but he sure does act like a dork sometimes
as for Bear come on you guys watch closely his camerman does the same thing he does but while holding a damn camera and hes there with someone all the time never by himself so no fear factor he too goes to some awsome places but if we are going to talk about acting strange Bear takes the cake
Neither one claims to be without any help at all , its obvious Bear has his crew with him and Les says he has a crew near by so lets just all get along and enjoy the shows
