Survivorman and Man vs. Wild - Survival Media
Recently, education programs have become a major source of entertainment. When it comes to reality television, it does not get any more real than shows about survival. “Survivorman”, with Les Stroud, and “Man vs. Wild” with Bear Grylls are two very popular programs about survival in the most extreme of conditions. Survival Food, and eating right.
Being outdoors is a beautiful thing. Hiking and camping are fun and relaxing, but require a good level of energy to get things accomplished. That’s part of the fun of being out in the wild, it puts people in a place where they are required to do more and yield the benefits of their efforts. The level of energy in a person’s body is determined by their diet; specifically carbohydrates.
Clothing is important to survival.
When out hiking or camping, it is important to wear appropriate clothing. Surviving Long Road Trips
Being prepared for the inevitable and the unexpected is the best way to ensure the highest level of security when taking a long trip; it takes equipment, survival gear to get through when things go wrong while on the road or on the trail. In the wilds, the knife has been the most important piece of survival gear a person can have and still is. A knife not only gives the holder a sense of security, but also affords a person who knows how to use a knife options.
Summer Water Procurement Methods
Summer Water Procurement Methods- Water is vital for life. A person may be able to survive for days without food, as their body is able to use stored fats and protein, but a person can only survive without water for three to four days at the most. While a heavier person with a lot of fat stores is able to live longer than a thin person with very little fat without food, the size of the body does not matter when it comes to the requirement for water.
Water Filters and Bacteria
Water Filters and Bacteria
There was a time when water purification wasn’t really the first priority of every camper. Many people would simply drink the flowing water from streams or rivers. Then a little parasite called Giardia became an issue that many a camper had to reckon with and people became a little more concerned about the purity of the water. Read the rest of this entry »

Water supplies normally available during spring summer and fall may not be accessible or useable during the winter months.
