Survivorman – Arizona Desert
Survivorman’s desert survival adventure opens with host and survival specialist Les Stroud riding into the southwest’s bleak Sonoran desert on a lime green motorbike at sunset. The picturesque scene quickly degenerates as the crew leaves Stroud in the desert with little more than a broken dirt bike, a single food bar, a jug of water, and his multi-tool. The sun sets and Stroud hunkers down near the broken bike for his first below-freezing night.

Survivorman and Man vs. Wild – Survival Media
Recently, education programs have become a major source of entertainment. When it comes to reality television, it does not get any more real than shows about survival. “Survivorman”, with Les Stroud, and “Man vs. Wild” with Bear Grylls are two very popular programs about survival in the most extreme of conditions. These shows are popular because they arm their viewers with information that they may otherwise never have a chance to learn.
Survival Food, and eating right.
Being outdoors is a beautiful thing. Hiking and camping are fun and relaxing, but require a good level of energy to get things accomplished. That’s part of the fun of being out in the wild, it puts people in a place where they are required to do more and yield the benefits of their efforts. The level of energy in a person’s body is determined by their diet; specifically carbohydrates.
Clothing is important to survival.
When out hiking or camping, it is important to wear appropriate clothing. Depending on the season and region, this can vary greatly, so be aware of where you are going and what kind of weather you might encounter while out. Don’t assume that what you are wearing when you walk out the door or leave the campsite will be enough. Be prepared; make sure you have clothing options that can protect you “just in case.”
Surviving Long Road Trips
Being prepared for the inevitable and the unexpected is the best way to ensure the highest level of security when taking a long trip; it takes equipment, survival gear to get through when things go wrong while on the road or on the trail. There are some basic items that should be kept in the vehicle, regardless of where you are headed, or where you live.
Survival Gear #1 – The Knife
There is a reason the knife has withstood the test of time and has been at man’s side since we could fashion one from bone or rock in the time of prehistory. In the wilds, the knife has been the most important piece of survival gear a person can have and still is. A knife not only gives the holder a sense of security, but also affords a person who knows how to use a knife options.
Summer Water Procurement Methods
Summer Water Procurement Methods- Water is vital for life. A person may be able to survive for days without food, as their body is able to use stored fats and protein, but a person can only survive without water for three to four days at the most. While a heavier person with a lot of fat stores is able to live longer than a thin person with very little fat without food, the size of the body does not matter when it comes to the requirement for water.
